2024-2025 Budget Information

Each spring, the Warrensburg Central School District Board of Education adopts a proposed budget for the upcoming school year, which requires voter approval. A public hearing is held before the vote.

2024-25 Budget Summary

New York state law requires all school districts to present their budgets divided into three expenditure categories (instructional, administrative, and capital).

  • Capital: 19.2%
  • Administration: 7.6%
  • Instructional: 73.2%

Two Board of Education Seats on the Ballot

Voters will be asked to elect two community members to the Warrensburg CSD board of education. The two seats are currently held by Douglas West and Elaine Cowin. The term for the seats runs from July 1, 2024, to June 30, 2028.

If you are interested in running for one of these seats, petitions are ready for Board of Education candidates to begin obtaining signatures. The deadline for submission of petitions for nominations of Board of Education candidates is April 22, 2024, 4:00 p.m. Submit petitions in person to the Business Office at 103 Schroon River Road. If you have any questions, please contact the Business Office at 518-623-2861 ext. 228.

Transportation on the Ballot

In addition to the budget proposition and board of education election, two other propositions will be on the ballot. The first proposition would allow the district to lease three 66-passenger buses for a five year term at an annual cost that would not exceed $120,000. Leasing buses has proven to be an effective and economical way to ensure that the district has the stock to get students to and from school, to their other programs, and to field trips without shortage. The second proposition would allow the district to expend up to $90,000 from the Equipment and Bus/Vehicles Reserve Fund to purchase a transit van for students.
