Services Offered

The Warrensburg Elementary Counseling Services provide the following support methods for students:

  • Academic Counseling for Students At-Risk: Students will evaluate their academic progress and develop a plan for improvement
  • Accelerated Program Monitoring: Identify students for accelerated programming and monitor their progress
  • Annual Review: Meet with students for annual review to discuss current progress, academic goals, and future plans
  • CSE Annual Reviews: Review, discuss, analyze and evaluate a student's progress toward annual goals in order to address their unique needs related to their disability
  • College Application Process and choosing a college: Students will be knowledgeable of the college application process and be equipped to make informed decisions about their post-graduation plans
  • Group Senior Meeting: Distribute information on scholarships, ACT/SAT testing, the college application process, and transcript release
  • Individual Counseling Support: Provide one-on-one support to improve student success academically, socially, behaviorally, and emotionally, at the request of parents or teachers
  • Individual Senior Meetings: Meet with students to ensure the college application process has begun and solidify post-graduation plans
  • Summer School Registration: Recommend students for summer programming as needed

The counseling services in the district also include scheduling. Staff from the counseling team help organize a variety of events, including new student orientations, CTE tours and information sessions, parent nights, parent-teacher conferences, FAFSA Financial Aid Workshops, open houses, 7th grade orientation, Middle School to High School Orientation, Upward Bound Classroom Presentations/Parent Night, Future’s Day, quarterly academic awards, high school orientations, high school graduation, and College Information Nights.

Additionally, the counseling team assists new and transferring students as they adjust to their new district. They oversee the ordering, scheduling, proctoring, and administering of AP Exams, PSAT, SAT, ACT, and Regents exams. The team also supports students with post-graduation plans, including filling out FAFSA applications, finding suitable schools, facilitating mock college interviews, and preparing transcripts.
