Warrensburg, Lake George, Bolton Football Program Merger Update
Dear School Families and Community Members,
The Warrensburg Central School District, Lake George Central School District, and Bolton Central School District recognize the importance of providing extensive extracurricular opportunities for all our students. We recognize the concerns of our community members regarding the recent challenges faced by the football program and are committed to exploring solutions that will ensure the continued success of our extracurricular programs.
To address these concerns and ensure the long-term success of the football program, the Boards of Education from each district are committed to renewing the merger application in January, as required annually by New York State Public High School Athletic Association Section 2, for the fall sports season of 2025. This annual renewal will be accompanied by a focus on collaboration and a commitment to developing new procedures that will strengthen the program for years to come.
The superintendents and athletic directors of the three districts are collaborating to establish new procedures for the football program. These include a shared hiring process for coaches, with input and representation from each district, and a focus on fostering a positive, inclusive program culture aligned with our district’s collective mission and values. Though details are still being finalized, this partnership aims to provide all student-athletes with high-quality experiences and build a stronger, more sustainable program.
We understand that this has been a challenging time for our communities, and we appreciate your patience and understanding as we work through these program plans and initiatives. We look forward to continuing to provide our students with valuable extracurricular opportunities that cultivate teamwork, sportsmanship, and a sense of community pride.
Sincerely,
